The Future of Social Networks
Movenpick, Tangier, May 7-9, 2012
The advances in the Web 2.0 Technologies have raised new opportunities for the implementation of novel applications and the provision of high quality services over Internet. One of the most important usages of these technologies consists in Social Networking. This allows participatory information sharing, interoperability, and collaboration on the World Wide Web. Current research and development in enhancing Online Social Networks still faces a number of challenges, e.g. Personalization of social networks, usability and robustness, user privacy, adaptability and scalability issues, etc. Due to dynamically changed computing environments, mobility, limited computing capability, instant communication characteristics and user privacy requirements, these challenges are more difficult to overcome in the context of mobile internet, computing and communications.
Following the success of METIS’2008 in Rabat, METIS’2009 in Marrakesh, METIS-CTDS’2010 in Fez and METIS-CTDS’2011 in Marrakesh, METIS’2012 aims at providing a broad coverage of recent advances and trends related to the future of social networking. This spring school, METIS’2012, brings world-class experts from academy and industry to present and discuss hot topics in social networking. The Topics of this year’s spring school are: Facebook from inside, Content distribution on the internet, The future of social networks, Social media, Management of social networks, Fully personalized social networks, Privacy in social networks, etc…
